What Itinerary You Can Expect
You’re going to be picked up by the local guide and provided with superior high quality bikes and safety equipment. It’s customary to tip local tour guides and drivers, but the quantity you give needs to be related to the degree of service you get. A Bali cycling tour allows you to effectively combine several activities in one trip. A visit to the romantic Italian hilltop towns is not only about the awesome wine. Under normal conditions, your vacation to Bali or some other location of choice is carefully planned to fit within a precise timeline, therefore it can be challenging to get to see everything you want to on your journey.
After breakfast, we will take you to Kintamani where a cycling tour will begin with the beautiful active volcano Mount Batur and a fantastic lake overlooking the starting point. Mountain biking starts after you make beautiful scenery photography and most of it decreases without traffic.
Our 30 km route passes through a traditional village and enjoys the beautiful side of the Balinese countryside. Our professional Bali cycling tour guides will take you through 3 hours, with some of the best points to stop for photos and explore the local side. Along the route we will visit Balinese rice plantations, traditional village temples, tarring rice terraces, visit Balinese homes and meet happy and friendly people in their village complex. Our guide will explain to you all about local culture, life traditions and farming systems.
You can ask our guide to stop for a few minutes in one of the amazing places on your route, for rest, photography, or make a fantastic film for your recording. At the end of the tour, we will serve you at an appetizing lunch at our delightful local restaurant.

Tour Reviews
A “must-do” experience – a highlight of our Bali visit
My wife and I really enjoyed the Bike-Baik tour we took in mid December. We were picked up from our Ubud hotel (about 20 minutes late, which didn’t really matter, but we were just starting to get concerned that we’d been forgotten. Drove to Kintimani for breakfast after seeing the coffee plantation – very interesing. Both the coffee plantation stop and breakfast gave us the opportunity to get to know the other members of our group (8 in all).
Bikes were good and adjustments were made on the spot (brakes, seats etc). The ride was terrific – almost all downhill and very easily navigable quiet roads through paddy fields and small villages. Felt we were seeing some of the real Bali – a world away from Kuta!
We stopped at regular intervals to look at rice paddies, check out children in a village school, have a drink/rest etc.
The meal at Wayan’s house compound was really excellent – better than most restaurants I’ve tried in Bali. Our guide Gede, was a competent guide, good humoured and keen to ensure everyone enjoyed themselves. He seized on many opportunities to provide cultural knowledge which was appreciated.
Although there are only a couple of small hills that require serious pedalling and the rest is downhill, basic bike riding proficency is required (eg braking safely, riding over occasional sections of road under repair etc.). We are in our mid-fifties and not currently regular bike riders but coped without difficulty.
This was our fifth trip to Bali and this was one of our most enjoyable experiences.
Fantastic Bike trip through local villages
This was a wonderful view of beautiful villages and rice farm terrain. The host explained everything from rice paddy protocal temple festivals and religions and schools. The lunch at the end was a taste delight.
Regards, Jocely
Cycling down I was referred by several yogis when I was in Amed. When I arrived in Ubud, the hotel manager seemed reluctant to order a bicycle tour through them, I suspect because he was either related or got bribes from other bicycle tour operators.
A decent bicycle & helmet is provided. Water and bananas are also provided during the trip.
I like this trip – it’s very easy (there are some uphills though – definitely challenging – but some people go down and walk their bikes – the guides will wait on the top of the hill). The streets are almost completely empty of other vehicles (great), and somewhat damaged (more challenges). But along the way Bali lives – miles and miles of Balinese housing compounds (each of them looks like a temple), cacao and drying rice on the side of the road, Balinese dogs black & white barking for the right amount of time needed to keep the compound , and of course the little ones shout “Hellooooooo!” for each driver. Some of them raised their hands to get the highest score. I am not balanced enough to do this often.
We stopped to walk through the beautiful rice fields around – and to watch the rice stirring – not sure of the technical term – to remove grain.
Before we went to an organic coffee & fruit plantation and had to try things, including something called snakefruit. They also have special ferret coffee – very expensive.
After that we stopped at an amazing buffet – including vegetarian choices.
Would highly recommend this tour for all, even those who are not good at biking.
Guide was fabulous, carefully took after us, stop at village that family is doing plantation of vegetables, Bali is rich of nature and awesome people, then we continue to stop at rice fields for awesome pics.
Really recommend to everyone who really wants deep explore bali nature.

Great way to spend a day in Bali
Booked bike tour for a family of four (Two teenagers) after research on the internet. Booking was simple and confirmation came promptly per email.
On the day of the tour, we were picked up at the hotel on time and driven to a beautiful mountain hotel for breakfast. After a short visit at a local coffee plantation we started a 2.5h downhill bike tour over back roads almost completely empty of car traffic. Made several stops along the way where our knowledgeable guide explained about Bali country life. Chatted with villagers who were busy with the rice harvest.
Almost the entire tour was downhill, pedalling was only required for less than 2km out of a total of 25-30km, which makes this tour fun for almost anyone no matter what shape you are in.
Tour finished with a very good balinese lunch in a traditional balinese home.
All in all a great day with lots of “Real Bali” impressions and nothing to organise ourselves.
Bikes were not in good shape, except for the brakes which is almost all you will need on this tour.
A great experience. Not only cycling, but also getting to know the traditions and the way of life of the Balinese people. A great team, great guides, great lunch, nice fellow cyclists from Australia. What more do you want. If you feel like experiencing Bali from a different angle, then this is the place for you. So: I want to ride a bicycle (in Bali).
Days 4 with Bali Ventur is great experience no one expected. We did a amazing cycling experience, explore trough natural life and culture, Balinese truly remarkable high hospitality,, love them lot.
Exploring rice fields, stop at Temple another amazing experience…

We had a wonderful day out with Agus as our guide and Wayan as the driver. Our ages ranged from 10 – 55 and everyone was catered for. Bike riding was great and those in the bus loved it too. We would highly recommend this tour.
This was a nice trip. We were provided bikes with good suspension, essential on some portions of the hike. We visited across village roads, rice fields and in the process visited some temples. Near the end of the trip, we visited a coffee plantation. That was an eye opener, but it seemed that the host was rushing us along so he could get us to buy goods. We finished by walking along a riverbank to the Banyan Tree Bike Tours HQ, where we had a great lunch.
Talk about a work out. This is what you call cycling. This was a very nice tour that allows you to see parts of Bali that you would otherwise miss. A great experience, a great workout and a great sense of achievement when you’ve conquered some of the hills that stand in your way of seeing the next village, shop, etc. But no worries b/c no man is left behind. The pace is reasonable but even if you need to catch your breath there is a rider that stays in the back to push and motivate you along. Glad to have had this experience.
