What Itinerary You Can Expect
You’re going to be picked up by the local guide and provided with superior high quality bikes and safety equipment. It’s customary to tip local tour guides and drivers, but the quantity you give needs to be related to the degree of service you get. A Bali cycling tour allows you to effectively combine several activities in one trip. A visit to the romantic Italian hilltop towns is not only about the awesome wine. Under normal conditions, your vacation to Bali or some other location of choice is carefully planned to fit within a precise timeline, therefore it can be challenging to get to see everything you want to on your journey.
After breakfast, we will take you to Kintamani where a cycling tour will begin with the beautiful active volcano Mount Batur and a fantastic lake overlooking the starting point. Mountain biking starts after you make beautiful scenery photography and most of it decreases without traffic.
Our 30 km route passes through a traditional village and enjoys the beautiful side of the Balinese countryside. Our professional Bali cycling tour guides will take you through 3 hours, with some of the best points to stop for photos and explore the local side. Along the route we will visit Balinese rice plantations, traditional village temples, tarring rice terraces, visit Balinese homes and meet happy and friendly people in their village complex. Our guide will explain to you all about local culture, life traditions and farming systems.
You can ask our guide to stop for a few minutes in one of the amazing places on your route, for rest, photography, or make a fantastic film for your recording. At the end of the tour, we will serve you at an appetizing lunch at our delightful local restaurant.

For your children, introducing cycling is a fantastic way to receive them outside for some healthful play.

Tour Reviews
What an extraordinary day!
If you want to get out and explore the real Bali, this is a fun and interactive opportunity to do it. Two of our guides were very respectful, very informative and shared about Balinese culture. They are really fun and have a great sense of humor! After a short drive through the villages and countryside of Bali (agricultural land), you meet a beautiful view of Batur, you are then equipped with bicycles and helmets that are suitable for riding approximately 2 hours down the hill through the village and rice fields. Good photo opportunities, refreshments along the way make the whole experience very pleasant and Yoman very pleasant. Suitable for all ages and even beginner biking experiences.
The best way to see Bali !!!!
Me and two of my friends went on a cycling trip with Njo at the end of September. It was recommended by our driver during our stay in Kuta and glad he did because it was a fantastic day. We learned many things about Bali and the community.
We were picked up at our hotel in Ubud around 8.30am and escorted to visit the local school. We saw the children during their studies and did charity by giving them books and stationery, so beautiful Njo by providing this and a very backward opportunity for us as tourists.
We continued driving to the volcanic area, we had breakfast there which was ok but the view was breathtaking with mountains and lakes in front of us. We started biking from the restaurant parking area, not like a group of tourists (who had breakfast in the same restaurant and we assumed they would also ride with different companies) to the starting point. That’s very good because cycling is mostly downhill. We passed the local orchards and villages. Njo took us to a coffee plantation to take a coffee break and drink Luwak coffee which is included in the rate, great! Along the way, Njo let us stop at several temples and do short trekking in the rice fields and provide so many informative explanations about the things we saw. We even visited the local family complex and saw how the Balinese actually live their daily lives. We are very happy to have an amazing experience and I still remember how delicious “Godoh” (a kind of fried banana) the family served us that day 🙂 The last place we visited was the Gunung Kawi temple, a beautiful historic temple before lunch. more view of the valley and rice fields.
We highly recommend Friends in Bali cycling if you want to explore and experience Balinese culture up close and in a different (and personal) way. After you meet Njo he will become your close friend like we do.
Bali Spotlight
It was a brilliant day … we started with breakfast on the cliff overlooking the volcano, tasting coffee and tea before leaving by bicycle. It’s a very easy down hill trip – with only a few difficult parts so you don’t need to be an experienced cyclist !!
Riding and walking through the rice fields is really interesting by stopping at the local village complex. That is a fantastic way to see Bali “off the beaten track”. Punk, our guide was very fun and very informative. We ended the day with a delicious lunch and cold Bintangs !!
A pleasant morning trip
Highly recommend for anyone who enjoys a relaxing trip. Have an absolute explosion. The journey is around 90% decreasing, mostly on closed roads but there are several times we go the way through the rice fields and pass a number of temples.
Bravo
The Best Way to Spend a Day In Bali
I do not remember how we picked this company over the number of bike riding options available but we are so glad we did. We ran into a couple of other groups on our ride and the bikes with this company were much newer and better maintained.
Our tour guide Wayan was very informative, friendly and caring with our group.
We rode through some absolutely gorgeous locations from forest to villages, rice paddies and even had fun with some hills. A backup vehicle to carry your bags and replenish drinks as needed.
There were enough stops to take photos and grab a drink if you wanted one.
We are putting this ride on our must do every time we come to Bali list. Could not recommend this group more highly! .
Highly recommend.. BaliVentur
Highly recommended – good customer service
Did a cycling tour with them last week and it was refreshing.
Being a special and careful person, I was lucky to find a Ventur. Kadek is very patient, willing to help and provide all the information needed when I emailed him before the cycling trip, I hope that he will not be fed up with all my questions … he made me feel confident about security and what I will get from the trip .
The whole cycling trip is challenging in several ways … some of the slopes are rather steep and some slopes are also tiring … but overall, it’s fun. The staff is also very helpful and they will go out for every question you ask them.
Will definitely go with them again if I go back to Ubud 🙂
Great way to see Bali and meet likeminded people
This tour is a great day out. The plantation and would have been happy to stay there longer. Our guide, Gusti, was knowledgeable, friendly and helpful, and to help children having trouble with their bikes. The kids enjoyed the unscheduled stop at a local primary school, rice paddy fields and hot chocolate.
We would advise having breakfast before you go, because the breakfast is included, it takes some time to get to Kintimani and the food is quite bad in the restaurant there. However Wayan at his home was offered splendid and made up for the bad experience at Kintimani. As one of the kids said, “this is better than any restaurant.” They also offered cooking classes which, if I would have more time, I would have tried.
The ride is quite easy and mainly downhill, although there are some steep climbs and don’t have a great bike.
We recommend this trip for my family – my daughter, some other kids and have lots of fun.

Awesome tour!
We had a wonderful bike trip down the mountain. We enjoyed our day and highly recommend this day trip to anyone. The people in the villages were friendly and welcoming. Our rice paddy stop was most educational. We had a great day! Louise and Maurice – Alberta, Canada
A Day to Remember
I took a wonderful bike tour with BALIVENTUR in Ubud, Bali, Indonesia. It started with a delicious breakfast at a restaurant overlooking beautiful Mt. Batur and Lake Batur followed by a visit to a coffee plantation. Then we mounted our bikes for a very easy 24 km ride past villages, rice fields, temples and more. Our guide stopped several times to explain the sights and we even got the opportunity to thresh rice! We could stop and take photos whenever we wanted. Our bike trip ended with a beautifully served and prepared meal. I highly recommend this delightful experience.
