What a hike! Waking up at 2 AM was totally worth it. They picked me up right from my hotel in Ubud (on time, which is already impressive), and within an hour, I was geared up and sitting on a powerful ATV surrounded by rice fields and jungle trails. It felt like I was in a Tomb Raider video game—except I was yelling and laughing the whole way.
The guides were legends—funny, helpful, and totally cool about first-timers like me who might’ve accidentally bumped a rock or two (or ten). They even took photos and videos of us in action, which I now proudly show to anyone who’ll listen.
Big tip: bring extra clothes. You will get wet, muddy, and completely unrecognizable by the end—but in the best way. Also, don’t worry about being super fit; the ride is beginner-friendly but still thrilling.
