Our private driver with SUV was fantastic. Gede is a true gentleman. He knows all the best spots to visit in Bali and took us around everywhere. I was traveling with my elderly mother, and he even carried her bag and held her hand when climbing steps, inclined areas, etc. He truly goes above and beyond for his customers. When picking a private driver in Bali, the one thing that sets Gede apart from others based on the other drivers that I contacted is that with his price he does not cap you off with an end/return time per day. Most drivers will say we end at 7pm, and if you go over that time, then it is an extra charge. Also, make sure to ask drivers when you contact them if their price includes tolls and parking–with Gede it is included. Most days, our nights would not end till about 9pm. He is also a very safe and cautious driver. The one thing I would say is to ask him to also pick up a licensed tour guide if you want to know all the history and such, which he would gladly do, but there is an extra charge. The service from Baliventur was frustrating from the start. The driver was late and gave no notice, leaving us waiting. Once the trip started, he was very silent and unengaged. He also seemed in a hurry all the time, making us feel uncomfortable. Definitely not a good experience.

Communication was difficult because his English was very limited, and most of the journey was spent in silence.
