My husband and I took a morning rafting trip. We were given a thirty minute window for our pick up from the hotel. The driver was there promptly, waiting in our lobby when we came down. He took us to the rafting lobby, where we paid (they accept credit card) and were given our helmets and paddles. The website was not super clear on what we should wear while rafting. We each wore a bathing suit with shorts and a shirt – everyone in our group was similarly dressed. I wore tennis shoes and my husband had on water shoes. Those people with flip flops, the guide tied the flip flops to the boat so they were barefoot when we got out for a drink and stopped at a waterfall. I would recommend wearing water shoes, if you have them. Once we had our gear, we loaded onto the back of a small truck for a 15 minute ride to the starting point. We walked down A LOT of steps. It was muddy and slippery and there were not always hand rails. No one in our group fell or had extreme difficulty. We got to the bottom, were given brief instructions and were set sail. The view from the river was breathtaking. We stopped halfway and had a chance to purchase a beer or drink. They wrote down what we had and we paid once we were back at the lobby. After two hours, we were at the end. There were approximately 250 steps back up. We were served a delicious lunch of rice and chicken with a soup. One other thing to mention- I think the website says they have showers. These are not western showers- no door or curtain. Just a nozzle in the wall. You will be able to wash off with you bathing suit on and change clothes in a restroom enclosure. Things to bring: water shoes, dry clothes to change into, GoPro. All valuables will be locked in a cubby prior to leaving for rafting.
It is the first rafting trip for hubby and the kids and we are so lucky to have discovered Made and his team.
Mid way to the site, had a small bonus of a side refreshment trip to a cocoa plantation which was rustic and charming. Got to see first hand the cocoa and coffee plants and fruit as well as the creation process of of our usual cuppa. Great experience for city kids!
Telaga wajah itself is a beautiful location and Made was probably the most experienced guide among all the others there. Our group literally had no obstacles and required least effort … but most fun….down the 3 hour ride and the 5m drop. Safety and comfort was their top priority so kudos!
Lunch was simple but v good and everyone had big portions.
Highly recommend this team. We are now looking forward to a more advanced route next time.
Our Ayung River rafting experience was fun and well organized. We booked through BaliVentur and chose the package with pickup included. The driver was on time and friendly. The rafting itself was scenic with beautiful jungle views and gentle rapids, suitable for beginners.
They never showed up. We planned for this, stayed one nigth extra in Ubud, got to sleep early (on a Saturday when we was out), woke up early, packed our stuff and bought breakfast and waited. And they didnt show up.
You cannot trust this guys. Choose another company if u wanna go rafting in Bali, its many to choose from.
The attached picture shows the confirmation e-mail I got from them when I booked.
We were picked up on time and had a two hour trip each way to and from the rafting. Our driver was friendly and chatty. We stopped at a great coffee place close to the rafting where you are given about a dozen free samples in good size cups of tea and coffee to try before buying but there is no pressure to buy.
The rafting was brilliant. We had a great guy controlling our boat and the scenery along the 16 kilometres was beautiful. We are not sporty people but loved the experience along with a bit of rivalry with some young guys in another raft where we splashed each other and tried to over take each other at every opportunity.
I would highly recommend this tour for the fantastic experience and value.
My wife and I had done many rafting trip throughout American. Bali Whitewater Rafting might not have the safety standards as in America; however, they provided the most entertaining trip we ever had. We rafted under fallen trees and low bridges as well as waterfalls and even over a dam with a large drop. The Telaga Waja River is quit narrow and had continues rapids. The scenery along the river is beyond description. I definitely would recommend this rafting company to my friends.
My friend and I decided to try rafting for the first time in Bali and this company was recommended to us. We had a great time– it was the 2 of us with 3-4 very knowledgeable, entertaining guides! We felt very safe throughout the 2 hour trip down the river and they even gave us the opportunity to jump into and swim in the river which was awesome! We had the owner in our raft and he was very sociable/friendly! At end of our adventure, they provided a tasty meal to refuel our energy. Overall, we started with little expectations but we had a fantastic time!
PS. There are secure lockers and shower stations.
This was I must say an amazing tour and a wonderful experience and a true highlight of our trip…. we took a class 2 rapids river ( for beginners) it was exciting and lots of fun passing by waterfalls and stopping for a cold beer at a small villagers stand along the river half way through our trip …
BUT BEWARE
the one thing they never said was that you must walk down 400 steps in the jungle to get to the river something which is very tiring and also if u have bad knees or health problems please think twice… because we had to walk up also 350+ steps back up it took me about 30 minutes to do pausing to sit down for multiple breaks to catch my breath and avoid passing out LOOL but I would do it again … because luckily I got a massage when back at the hotel… so just one thing I wanted others to know about before running for the trip … but was it worth it ? Yes and I’d do it again ! 😉
Wow! What a great morning spent in the water! We were picked up right at the start of our window and taken to pick up two other groups for our trip. After paying for our trip we transferred into the back of an open air truck for a brief ride to the trail head. A great hike through some rice paddies, and what seemed like a thousand stairs we arrived at our raft where several other rafts were being prepared.
Immediately upon setting in the water we hit some fun drops and great splashes. Shortly after starting we arrived at the cliff side carvings and they were inspiring. Art is abundant in Bali. About 30 minutes in we arrived at a waterfall where we could frolic under the cascading water. It was heavy and hard, much like a heavy hailstorm. After many splashes, twists and slaps along the river we reached our break point where drinks and chips were available.
The second half of the trip was quieter but still had it’s share of thrills. Another 1000 steps back to the clubhouse for a light lunch and we were free for the day by 1:30.
I would give the rafting and hiking a 5 as it was simply wonderful. Where can the experience be improved? The guides could be friendlier and more engaging with their guests. I noticed at the break and end the guides grouped together and didn’t engage with their guests. Had they taken the time to do so I think some of the more athletically challenged guests would have enjoyed the experience more.
This trip is a medium workout with a 10 to 15 minute hike in and out of the river valley at each end. Strong legs and a strong back for paddling will enhance the fun factor.
My husband and I had a fantastic time on this trip thoroughly recommend Bali International Rafting, they made our day filled with excitement, laughter, great memories, fantastic views, and food.
The photos were good and very well priced cash is needed if you want to purchase as no card facilities.
Food was great and plentiful.
We stopped once for the waterfall and a drink.
16 kms of great Rafting
Thank you Made for the help you also gave me.
River was low but lots of white water, river is high in May and June.
