We booked our tour over here, professional staff and good communication. The actual tour was conducted by Bali International Tour (BIR) which was excellent. Pick up and communication was good. Easy to share where we were via whatsapp with the company. Driver was punctual. We didn’t like the coffee plantation visit. Had expected a simple coffee break but was brought through a tour of the different kind of plants and coffee types before we sat down to taste a range of coffee and tea. Then were asked several time if we want to buy any of their coffee.
Transfer thereafter to the river was smooth and that’s where the true adventure began. Telaga waja river is the one to go for, not Ayung which is dirtier and more walking steps to reach. The price is around 50K difference but it is worthwhile and BIR offered the longest ride of 16km and truly two hours of a very enjoyable ride on the beautiful river.

The whitewater rafting is a must do when in Ubud. Extremely well organised, attentive and caring guides who make the experience a lot of fun whilst remaining safe. Be prepared for absolute saturation, crashing into rocks and the most amazing rock carvings and jungle scenery.
The walk down is about 400 steps, very steep and precarious so take care. The walk back up at the end is 100 steps and very steep.
Take a whole change of clothes and wear either thongs or runners. They provide towels and changing areas at the end of the day as well as a tasty lunch.
Sit at the front of the raft for the best photos that will cost $20 if you wish to buy them.
We will do it again.
Everything about the rafting was great. Our guide was awesome. The scenery along the way was beautiful. A bit challenging with big rocks for the first half way but nothing was too dangerous.
Now, I WISH I could give it all 5 stars BUT I have to say that I feel like I was cheated at the “restaurant.” Basically they provided free food for lunch but you had to get your drinks, either you bring your own or you buy there. We got a Coke for 20,000 rupiah (already 4 times more expensive than retail price but whatever). There’s nothing mentioned about tax or service charge on the menu, or there was but the plastic that covers the menu was too old and we couldn’t actually see it. Anyway, for a normal, small, serving cold food “warung,” they charged us 21% tax. The coke turned out to be 25,000. Now, 21% would be 24,200. Why would they round up to be 25,000? I’m not cheap, it’s only 40 cents, but I’ve dined in fancy, big restaurants around Bali and none of them charged me 21% tax and refused to give correct change. No receipts either, so Gods knows where that 5,000 actually goes.
With the drinks sold at 3-4 times more expensive and that obscure “21%” tax, I’m sorry but that cold buffet was not free. I don’t mind spending and paying for what I get, but I’d like to do it explicitly.
Tarif négocié par “notre agence”, très intéressant !!! Du coup t’apprécie encore plus. Superbe descente dans de très beaux paysage de jungle. Un peu plus qu’une balade, on participe réellement et ça c’est très bien. Au moins, on fait du rafting. Un super moment.

Absolutely nothing to complain about! A long rafting, not too rough. Beautiful nature with many small waterfalls. We had one stop for a cold beer that we paid for later. After the rafting we got a full meal included in the price, which was low. Absolutely worth it!

if you go rafting in bali its not that great in the dry season(may-july) as the water in the rivers are at a low.
Be careful that you shop around on price as we paid have the price that our resort was offering.
We chose Telaga Waja rafting for more adventure and it delivered. We booked voucher only and met at the rafting base. The river flow was strong and exciting. A good experience overall.
