Water temperatures range from lukewarm to slightly hotter, although there is no hot-water pool, and most are generally warmer in the morning. Although some hot springs have the word “natural” in their names, don’t expect a natural environment, because everything here consists of tile pools.

My tour guide Ketut was really helpful, holding me throughout the climb and back down. He was very encouraging too. Really appreciate it!
Ketut was a great guide! We enjoyed the trip mainly because of his expertise and his patient and jubilant personality.
As most of us were beginners, we had trouble climbing up and we find it even more difficult coming down because of mt batur steepness. The stones are smooth and people can slip off easily without proper grip.
Ketut was supporting both my friend and I up and downhill and he was always so positive and patient by telling us it’s ok to go slowly and take breaks when we need.
One of my friend went off track and he video called him and ensured all our safety.
We are extremely thankful to have met such a responsible and capable guide.
We strongly recommend Ketut.
Honorary mention: the driver was very skilled and fetched us to and fro safely.
Thank you!
Wira was a very professional driver, bringing us safely back and forth from our accommodation through the busy Bali traffic.
Ketut was the best guide and helped our group with the ascent and descent through the sandy and pebbly trek.
My group and I highly recommend both Wira and Ketut for any keen travellers.
Our driver Nawe and guide Iwan were amazing. Nawe arrived early for pick-up at our Ubud accommodations and got us to base with plenty of time to spare. Iwan as a guide was phenomenal. He was very mindful the group’s skill level and did what he could to get the whole group up to the summit with plenty time to spare to see the sunrise. He even accommodated our group and took us down a slightly flatter path. The hike itself is not to be underestimated (600-700m / 2000-2300ft elevation gain). Unless you’re a regular hiker, I recommend a training hike to prepare. The difficulty was worth it for one of the most beautiful sunrises of my lifetime. The food served was delicious, and the hot spring was a lovely way to shower and unwind after a difficult climb.
Mel was amazing!!! Seriously so much fun. This hike was also a blast. Mel’s uncle took us on the hike, I believe his name was matty? He was th best! He helped my friend up the mountain to ensure we got there with plenty of time to spare. Took great care of us at the top. Best day on the trip! You have to do this. Afterwards, Mel overheard we have never tried Durian so she stopped by a stand for us! It was so cool!
Made Rum our guide is very helpful and he guide us with care. He’s also always making sure that we are not left out.
Very pleasant experience. Weather was great and we managed to see the sun rise.
Very beautiful place. Will want to come again.
Breathtaking views on a beautiful morning. Credit to our guide MadeRum who has traversed this volcano over 1000 times. Made rum our guide was incredible made the trip safe and unforgettable. Informative about the volcano and its history.
We where picked up by pujawan. He was kind and brought us to our destination for the trip up to mount Batur. At the ‘base camp’ we where guided by Iwan up the mountain. He was also very kind to everyone and told us all about the land and the volcano.
Iwan and puja did an excelent job. It was very interesting and it was an awesome hike! We would do again! They were very kind and telled us many things about Bali, the Mount Batur and the Balinese residents.
Ajik was a great driver. He was on time and he was friendly. When we get to the base camp we got a tea. We started hiking around 3:30 am. The tour leader Tison was nice and friendly. The route is like 6/10 and a normal person who do regular exercise can climb it. But It has some challenging part. If you cannot continue the journey there are motorcycles that can carry you to the top or bring you back down. The path is crowded and at least 15 groups are climbing this mountain . At the top you will get a breakfast. Its egg and banana sandwich and a tangerine with tea. At the end I recommend this team for their great work. Also the location is amazing and worth to go.
