Water temperatures range from lukewarm to slightly hotter, although there is no hot-water pool, and most are generally warmer in the morning. Although some hot springs have the word “natural” in their names, don’t expect a natural environment, because everything here consists of tile pools.

Amazing experience! Iwan and kadek were excellent at making us have a great experience. Would recommend to anyone who likes hiking!
What a great experience! Highly recommend for solo or groups. Friendly guide and great driver Wira took us from hotel to batur and back.
Excellent guide and fantastic views . Breakfast was very nice and the much needed hot drinks were good as well. He gave great information on the mountains around and about the volcanic eruptions that have taken place. Very good history
Unfortunately the driver for the day wasn’t too good, although very nice his english was limited and ceru difficult. On the return 2 hour journey when we tried to ask about things seen whilst driving but he was unable to explain anything due to english and felt we missed alotnof the local history
Made Rum was the perfect guide – took us to the best spots which were not too crowded and took amazing pics
Definitely recommend
Such a good experience! The hike was great and our guide was very informative and helpful! Also got to see an amazing sunrise and monkeys
Such an amazing experience. There really isn’t anything else close to the feeling of seeing the sun rise after a great hike up. If you’re fit I recommend trekking up and not taking the jeep, for a deeper experience. Shout out to our great driver Surya for a seemless experience between the mountain, springs, and hotel. Also shout out to our great hiking guide Nopia for an enriched experience up the mountain.
The pickup was on time and the driver, Nyoman, was very friendly. My guide to the crater was Wayan. A cool guy! The breakfast was delicious and the view from the top with the sunrise was phenomenal. It’s something you should experience once in your life. I can recommend the tour.
It was a very good tour. Our guide Nengah was helpful and help us in n the climb. Even though we were the slowest. They provided banana sandwiches, hard boiled eggs and hot drinks at the summit. We were lucky the sky was clear and got an amazing sunrise
This trek was one of the highlights of our visit to Bali. But this was not easy for both my wife and me, though it was just about fine for our 25 year old daughter..
We were picked up by a car from out hotel in Ubud at 2 AM and were driven down to the base of the mountain. However, the place was full of people and there were long queues for the female washroom. We had coffee and a few biscuits. By the time our tour guide decided to take us, it was already 4.30 AM which was honestly, not a great start as I knew we would need more time and breaks to climb the entire mountain. Just to set expectations, the climb is about 550 metres from the base to the top and this has to be done in about 90 minutes (before sunrise) to be able to enjoy the view at the top.
We started the trek and 10 minutes into it, I got the idea that it would be tough for me. I have previously never had issues at any tourist site even where it has been mentioned that heart patients should not participate. Anyways, we kept on climbing and my wife and I had to take regular breaks because while the distance per se was not an issue, the steepness definitely was. It was almost like climbing steps all the way, but on an uneven path. We somehow fell behind the pack and covered about 40% of the hike, after which both my wife and I decided to take help of the motorbikes for remaining half of the hike. The prices were exhorbitant as the riders knew we couldnt do without them if we wanted to go up. We covered the remaining 10% of the trek by foot as bikes dont go further, and were in time for sunrise.
It was quite beautiful at the top – not only the sunrise but also the view of mount kintamani, the clouds, and the few spots at the top from where hot smoke was coming out.
We started our climb downstairs and I decided to walk it down, and completed the trip. But not before falling many times on my backside due to the slippery pebbles at a few places. Climbing down took much lesser energy but by the end of the trek, my knees were gone and it took a full 12 hours on the bed to be able to move my left leg properly from the knee downwards. Our car was the only one in the parking lot 🙂
The message from me is – this is a beautiful trek and definitely one of the highlights of Bali. But please ensure you are fit for the trek and take help if you have issues like blood pressure.
Our driver was professional, punctual and friendly. The tour guide was also extremely accommodating to our slower pace and we were still able to comfortably arrive at the summit before the sunrise with time to spare.
