Toya Bungkah village, at the foot of Mount Batur, offers a number of geothermal springs – a relaxing way to relax tired muscles after climbing a volcano. Springs in the area are clear and without the smell of sulfur and locals claim all kinds of healing properties from mineral-rich waters.
Water temperatures range from lukewarm to slightly hotter, although there is no hot-water pool, and most are generally warmer in the morning. Although some hot springs have the word “natural” in their names, don’t expect a natural environment, because everything here consists of tile pools.

- 01 – 02.00 am. Hotel pickup directly to the starting point (depending on your hotel location)

- 04.00 am. You gonna be accompanied by a local licensed trekking organization guide to help your climb in about 2 hours from the bottom to the top
- 05.00 am. A short break to rest and drink, water is provided

Had a really nice sunset hike at the Batur. And we were very lucky with the stunning view. Ayu was a lovely guide who kept the group together and was really positive. Kadek was a hero who drove us all the way back to Uluwatu.

Our driver Sentana was so lovely and friendly. He picked us up from our accommodation and made conversation, explaining details about the trip and the local culture of Bali, as well as Indonesia as a whole. On the hike Ketut took amazing photos and got us to the top on time! He saved everyone in our group from slipping multiple times and constantly checked in with us to make sure we were okay. He was a delight to talk with as well! The hike was gorgeous and having a hot beverage included was such a nice perk.
I had an amazing experience during our sunrise trek. It was 500.000 IDR for the transportation to the base camp, a knowledgeable guide who helped out everyone, breakfast at the top of the mountain, and transportation back to where you are staying with a quick intermission to visit a local coffee and cacao plantation. Our driver Sentana was very safe and very willing to share a lot about the local culture making the car ride enjoyable. Our guide Ketut made sure that everyone was able to keep up and make sure to help in any tricky parts of the trail and was very kind.
Our driver to the hike was Sentana and our guide was Ketut. Sentana was extremely polite and insightful with not only local sites and suggestions on other activities, but also the culture and general facts which was really interesting. Ketut was an excellent guide who knew a lot about the area and made sure at every opportunity to take photos which came out amazing. He also constantly made sure we were all okay and helped us when the terrains got a bit steep or slippery.
