Toya Bungkah village, at the foot of Mount Batur, offers a number of geothermal springs – a relaxing way to relax tired muscles after climbing a volcano. Springs in the area are clear and without the smell of sulfur and locals claim all kinds of healing properties from mineral-rich waters.
Water temperatures range from lukewarm to slightly hotter, although there is no hot-water pool, and most are generally warmer in the morning. Although some hot springs have the word “natural” in their names, don’t expect a natural environment, because everything here consists of tile pools.

- 01 – 02.00 am. Hotel pickup directly to the starting point (depending on your hotel location)

The most incredible sunrise over Mount Batur. The hike is not for the faint of heart though but if you’re an adventurer it’s a must do!! You can relax later in the natural hot springs. Pujawan our driver was really nice. Really great experience.
My taxi driver was MK Angga and guide was Bargo. Both were extremely helpful and polite throughout the whole tour.

I had such an amazing experience hiking Mount Batur! Our driver, Anom, was fantastic – friendly, reliable and made the whole trip easy. The guide who took us up the mountain was also incredible (unfortunately I can’t remember his name) – he was patient, knowledgeable, and made sure we were comfortable the whole way up.
The sunrise views from the top were absolutely breathtaking. After the hike we relaxed in the hot springs, which was the perfect way to unwind, and finished the day with a visit to a coffee plantation which was really interesting and enjoyable.

Great and highly recommendable experience for anybody that wants to escape the tourist flooded streets of Ubud or Seminyak. The views of the surroundings of Mt Batur and the Kintamani caldera area at dawn are absolutely fantastic. Our driver Mk Angga and our tour guide Bargo were very helpful and friendly. The hike up the slope in the dark (head torches were provided) took us about 75 minutes and although steep and slippery in parts, was easily doable with a standard level of fitness.

Fantastic experience doing mount batur sunrise hike! Our driver Wira picked us up from our accommodation and took us there and back and ensured it was a comfortable journey, with brill communication especially when we were worried about the weather.

We were quite lucky on the weather and had a wonderful sunrise view, the way up to summit took us approx 1hour30mins at a chill pace with several breaks, and the summit was not as crowded as it can get in high season.
Went for the private driver and guide option, for Rp 700k/pax, cheaper options do exist if you wish to be included in a larger group.

We had an amazing experience with the Mount Batur Sunrise Trekking tour! The hike started in complete darkness with only our flashlights lighting the path. The first part was fairly easy, but halfway up it got steeper and slippery, which made reaching the summit even more rewarding. When we finally got to the top, we were greeted with the most breathtaking sunrise, watching the sky turn from black to deep blue, then pink and orange, was truly magical.
A big shout-out to our driver, Ajik, who was on time and very professional. And an even bigger thanks to our guide, Ajik Ngurah. He really cared for us, always checking if we needed breaks and guiding us with patience and kindness throughout the hike.

Our journey began in the chilling darkness of early morning. The steep, volcanic rock path was challenging under the faint glow of our headlamps. After a strenuous two-hour climb, we reached the summit just as the first light painted the sky. We watched in awe as the sun rose, illuminating the caldera and the stunning views of Lake Batur and surrounding mountains. The steam rising from the crater was a powerful reminder of the volcano’s active nature. Eating breakfast cooked by the volcanic steam was a unique and incredible experience, making every step of the hike worthwhile.
