Water temperatures range from lukewarm to slightly hotter, although there is no hot-water pool, and most are generally warmer in the morning. Although some hot springs have the word “natural” in their names, don’t expect a natural environment, because everything here consists of tile pools.

Ketut was an excellent guide and helped us navigate some uneven terrain, as well as took some lovely pics of us. Jezu was a great driver and got around safe and sound, as well as being on time. The sunrise was beautiful and well worth the steep climb.
Stunning morning with Ayu! She knew the track well and was a great guide! The breakfast was also delicious! Steaming hot chocolate on top of a mountain! Wow
Dewa was a fantastic driver and tour guide! He showed us around and picked us up right at time 02:00. Will defnitely recommend him for anyone!
Our Driver Kadek made sure the we got there in good time and was very friendly.
Bargo our guide was fantastic, always happy to help at the tricky parts and full of knowledge.
I would highly recommend!
Hiking up the volcano was such an incredible experience and my hiking guide made sure I was safe even on the unsteady terrain. The view is amazing at sunset and highly worth the uphill hike!
Nadek was a wonderful driver to and from my accommodation. Definitely a trip you don’t want to miss!
We had a lovely hike with our guide Made Rum this morning.
We were picked up shortly after 2am from our hotel outside Ubud and got to the starting point around 3.30am. We were offered tea/coffee and water before setting off in the darkness. We were given a walking stick and head torch and there were also jackets for hire for 50k should you need one.
The trek to the summit took us just under 1hr 20 min. The first half is mostly wide dirt track (the jeeps use these to access the mountain) and the second half is narrower, a bit more slippy and rocky. The difficulty is not very hard though, especially if you’ve climbed munros or even corbetts in the Uk.
Reaching the top, we stopped just short of the summit where it was quieter which was good for photos without people blocking the view. We were offered hot chocolate/coffee/tea and had a sizeable breakfast given to us including banana sandwiches, boiled egg, chocolate rice breakfast bar, banana, tangerines and snake fruit.
One the sun had risen Made took us to the summit and to see the crater. The views were spectacular!
The walk back down was a bit more technical without hiking shoes but Made was very patient and helpful.
We got back to our hotel around 9.30am.
Top tip would be to dress warm or with layers it does get chilly at the top. We are from Scotland so know the cold! Hiking boots would also make it a lot easier but trainers with a grippy bottom are fine.
Highly recommend Made Rum if you can request him too! So kind and gentle spoken. He’s climbed the volcano thousands of times so knew the best ways up and down. He also takes great photos!
We booked via Seek Sophie and then communicated over WhatsApp which was all very easy.
From the moment we left the Hotel, the Driver was friendly, the guide was considerate and really tried to look after us, the view at the end was breathtaking.
Had a blast. Hard but well worth it. The early morning start definetly took it out of us but our driver Dewa & our Tour guide Petut made it a lot more of a smoother run
Pujawan was great. We had an amazing time, the views were amazing. It’s a bit difficult to hike up there but it is worth it!
Great experience at sunrise. Thanks to Wira for taking us there on 21/09 and to the guides for their Welcoming and help on the mountain.
