I had Ketut Kertana as my guide and he was perfect. Very helpful and nice and provided with anything I needed (an extra jacket, walking stick) etc. Everything was managed by Jero, which was as impeccable, from fast communication to always checking that all was going ok to meet my expectations. Great experience to see the sunrise at the top of the mountain. The hike is a little demanding and requires proper footwear and clothing as it will be cold at the summit. Pickup and guide service is great!
We had an awesome trekking experience to Batur with Ketut, our group was just the two of us and Ketut. Since starting point till finish we always felt secure and comfortable.
I recommended to do this and for sure would do it again! Ketut knows everything about the mountain and its surrounding as he local villager who born and grow up just on the put of Batur volcano. It was worth the effort.
I was wondering on Batur trek organizer for me & my husband and then I got Jero’s contact from the website. Jero was very kind to send us all the details with pricing within minutes and confirmed us on the booking on whatsapp itself. Other websites asks you pay in advance but Jero gave us an option to pay by cash after trekking. Our driver Putu picked us up from Villa at 2pm and we were in the start point on time though the route was misty. Putu was very friendly person, he didn’t let us feel bored anywhere during the travel, we exchanged talks about place, culture, society etc. We had Ketut as our guide, as trek is bit difficult for non trekkers, I got tired on the way making it bad to climb further, ketut stayed with me as it was dark and sent my husband with another guide to finish his trekking. Overall we are happy and satisfied by the hospitality and help they extended by the team. I strongly recommend book Batur trek with Jero and you will not regret it.
We booked through Mount Batur Sunrise Trekking as I had seen good reviews, and we weren’t disappointed. We were picked up by a delightful and professional driver who answered all our questions and then met by our guide, Wayan, who was fantastic. He helped me along and even carried my bag for me which was such a lovely gesture! We had a good climb, several stops as I found it quite hard, but Wayan didn’t mind. The breakfast was super, it kept us going for the trek down. Again Wayan helped me down the slippery parts which was much appreciated. The view from the top is fabulous and I would highly recommend this tour.
Achtung:Es gibt viele Agenturen, scheinbar auch unterschiedliche Touren und auch Preise. Lasst euch genau erklären was ihr für euer Geld bekommt dann seid ihr danach nicht enttäuscht.
Es gibt Agenturen, die wohl nur zum untersten Gipfel an den Krater gehen. Eier und Bananen Sandwich vom Gasgrill ,unsere Preisinfo 900.000. Die Preise sind immer pro Tour,nicht pro Person! Zweites Level bis zum oberen Gipfel, Frühstück im Vulkandampf zubereitet.Danach etwas um den Krater herum und dann runter. Unsere Preisinfo 1.100.000. Und die längste Tour auch bis zum zweiten Gipfel,dann ganz um den Krater und einen weiteren Weg zurück. Unser Preis 1.300.000. Ob das billiger geht? Bestimmt. Wir haben uns trotzdem für die lange Tour entschieden unter der Garantie der Geld Rückgabe, falls wir es nicht schaffen.
Die Tour ist machbar auch für wenig trainierte wie mich, aber echt hart!
Wir haben die Trekkingtour von unserem Hostel aus gestartet,jedoch im Dorf unten gebucht. Unser Hostel war das Black Lava Hostel, absolut empfehlenswert,da man in der Regel nachts um 4 mit dem Aufstieg beginnt. Wecker also auf 3:30,3:45 Treffpunkt vor dem Hostel und direkt los. Vom Guide gibt es je eine Taschenlampe und eine kleine Flasche Wasser pro Person. Wir hatten noch nen Liter extra dabei. Man kann aber auch auf dem Weg und am Berg noch was kaufen.
Achtet auf euer Tempo denn der Weg ist härter als gedacht. Unbedingt gute Schuhe, mindestens Turnschuhe. Oben kann es bitter kalt werden,da manchmal windig und neblig,wie bei uns. Ich hatte longsleeve, z.T. Fleece,Schal und Trekking Jacke an. Lange Hosen sind nicht verkehrt.
Auch bei Nebel und ohne Sonnenaufgang (da komplett bewölkt wie bei uns) absolut sehenswert. Irgendwann drückt die Sonne durch und dann wird es umso schöner. Wir haben auch Affen gesehen.

Started at 2.30 am collated in my hotel in Ubud than hike at 4 am, our guide was great, friendly and he teaches a lot about Bali. I guess he is Devata, forget his name but I love him so much as our Mount Batur sunrise trek guide. He is local villager and knowledge about the area.
